Determined To Make A Difference

RZ World Getawayz was founded by Rajanaé Zen and Tshanna Charlee, in November 2021. Rajanaé wanted to make a difference after the murder of her son in 2017. She believed that there wasn't enough out there for the kids of today. She wanted to provide a safe space for young people, from deprived areas, as she found that those living in such areas are likely to get caught up in things such as crime and gangs, or even worse end up dead due to the 'streets'.

Rajanaé wanted to build a community youth group that was something for everyone, with the vision to provide a whole site dedicated to young people. Her son, who was sent to jail as a child wasn't allowed the opportunity to better himself after getting out, so Rajanaé wanted somewhere where those who have criminal records can give back to their community, help by mentoring young people that may be on the cusp of going down the wrong path and enabling them to get a job which can help them to better their CV's.

Rajanaé and Tshanna started by providing various activities weekly for young people to engage and develop skills such as cooking, baking, drama, arts and crafts and music. Providing a service that was reliable to the young people was a vital part of the aim, so a minibus has been provided that collects the children and drops them home after the session. Due to the after-school session time we also provide a small meal/snack whilst the young people are in our care. 

RZ World Getawayz aims to take the children out of their usual environment, through excursions offering both young people and their families a well needed break which can be detrimental to a young persons development. Offering weekly trips to attractions, along with camping excursions and much more.
